Why Prison? 

On Monday 14 October,  there will be a public meeting at the Quaker Meeting House in Frodsham Street. The theme will be Why Prison? Quakers have made an historical contribution to prison reform and a number of Chester Quakers are currently involved in prison visiting. We are pleased to welcome as a guest speaker Pauline Austin who leads the New Bridge charity which has provided a highly regarded befriending service to inmates for over sixty years. The efficacy of imprisonment as part of the criminal justice system is a vital issue for our society and one that is not examined as often as it should be.

The evening will begin with hot drinks and cake at 7 pm.
